Founder, Bill Speegle

Hampton Roads Crane & Rigging Co. (HRCR) opened its doors in November of 1981. The

founder of HRCR, Bill Speegle, was in the crane and rigging business since 1946. Jim Speegle, president of HRCR, is a 1989 graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has been with the company since 1994. Marlette Blauert, secretary/treasurer of HRCR, started with the company in July of 1996. Ben Sisler is our most recent addition. He hails as a graduate of East Carolina University, Greenville, NC with a BS in Construction Management. He joined HRCR in July of 2012.

Our Dedicated Staff

Each of our employees at Hampton Roads Crane & Rigging Co. works together to meet our goal of completing all our work efficiently and safely. Hampton Roads Crane & Rigging Co. maintains a staff of 20-25 employees, including our office associates, certified crane operators, our rigging crew and our experienced drivers. All of our crane operators are members of the Operating Engineers Local 147, and our rigging crew are members of the Ironworkers Local 79, both out of Norfolk, VA. All of our drivers are equipped to handle numerous types of trailers such as lowboys, drop decks, 40 foot stretch flat trailers and rollbacks or tilt-back trucks.
